Mark Donig, a VC and startup lawyer, has dedicated hundreds of pro bono hours to bring to safety American hostages held overseas and protect international pro-democracy, human rights, women’s rights and pro-pluralism activists and leaders from threats to their safety at the hands of state and non-state actors. Mark has helped lead efforts to protect or exfiltrate hostages and activists facing threats in Sudan, Iran, Afghanistan, Uganda and elsewhere.
