Sultan Muhammad V, refused to follow antisemitic orders by the nazi-controlled Vichy government in France to exclude any of Morocco`s 200,000 Jews from public functions and make them wear yellow stars. In defiance, the Sultan invited all Rabbis to the 1941 Throne celebration.
